This morning, as I stood in the shower and attempted to look deeply into my soul, I discovered a) my soul is deep and unfathomable, b) we need more soap, and c) that I'm not sure who is the underdog in the current Packer QB escapade.
Rodgers is the underdog. Why?
Favre is Favre, and Rodgers has never started a game. He was 8 for 20 with an end zone INT last night. Favre will probably fare better, given the opportunity. Under this kind of scrutiny, Rodgers might get frazzled and turn to quarterback putty.
Favre is the underdog. Why?
This whole competition may be a farce. It's possible that no matter how well Brett does, McCarthy goes with ARodge, and, taking his cue from Ari Fleisher, he explains simply that he is "the decider." Or MM and TT might be simply allowing Favre the chance to prove he's in good enough football shape so Minnesota would be willing to take him off their hands. Also, under this kind of scrutiny, Favre might get frazzled and turn to quarterback putty.
If it were truly a level playing field, it's advantage Favre, of course, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Time to get out the aspirin and a big tub of popcorn.
